In 2016, the City of Palm Desert invited the community to a 11-day demonstration experience “Vision San Pablo” which highlighted San Pablo's key potential to revitalized the city center where walking, biking, and fun are the focus. On Saturday, May 7, 2016, a section of San Pablo (between Alessandro and San Gorgonio Way) was closed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. to give residents and visitors a chance to see the changes up close. The day’s fun included food trucks, a beer garden featuring distinctive brews from three Coachella Valley breweries, local artists creating works on site, and information about San Pablo’s envisioned transformation.
The City of Palm Desert will transform San Pablo Avenue into a key artery in a revitalized city center where walking, biking, and fun is the focus. Roadway lanes will be reduced to allow room for improved bikeway facilities along San Pablo Avenue, enhanced pedestrian accommodations, new landscaping, beautification of existing community gardens, on-street parking, and a roundabout intersection at San Gorgonio Way.
On San Pablo Avenue between Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive.
